To whom it may concern,
I welcome you for something new. Three years of work can be now checked off from my daily routine between waking up and dozing off into responsibility and duty.
For a supposedly straightforward metal album, it turned out even more saturated with clarity and retro-futuristic energy than expected, and i’m quite ecstatic about what i hear every time i re-listen (or prooflisten) to it. I think it is something that not even i fully understand yet, but it happened. You can click a button and it explodes. Therefore, i am eager to share it with those who missed certain feelings about a new release that lives up to its premise of high activity, instant energy and a certain wrapper of NWOBHM that is rooted in raw riffs, exact choruses and both a sense of beauty, seriousness and a bit of dreamlike exploration – depending on the song. It’s a pleasure to announce that the “chromadrome” in my head has manifested into reality.
Forerunner – which spans 2 1/2 hours and found its point of exhaustion after the 16th song – is an intertwining between Sci-Fi aesthetics and Metal which, in its essence, respects the “statutes” of Sabbath and Maiden, if you will. Yet, it is a result that has its very own shape and form, accelerating the electrons in your speakers while exposing frequencies which go back and forward in time. You might get confused about whether you’re hearing music with a confident, more classic 80’s touch or something about it being as new as it can get. That’s alright, that’s probably the time-travling aspect that the name ‘Forerunner’ suggests.
This record you can find on many or most online music stores and streaming services without a doubt. And as it slowly slides into the unseen and unheard category of today’s musical marketplace, this album will always float around, waiting for those waiting to get energized and collect some optimism points. Not saying that it is nerdy in any way, but it’s 2024. And it’s fun to write such songs.
Everything was played and produced by myself – meaning that there is nothing and no one to credit. I am representing home recording since 2007, just stomping the ground a little belated. I hope you enjoy it – i am looking forward to hear what you think. In the Listen section here i have already listed some streaming services where you can buy from, with iTunes being exceptionally cheap.
