I had an epiphany – don’t remember when, but it was more serious than it sounds like…
Do we have anything in common? Sure, most of us have favorite colors. Some of them less significant, some of them more – some of them are shockingly good and some of them are unexpectedly unnerving, just like at this situation i had when working on a website where new comments would appear with a blatant, neon bright-blue background shining into the most receptive spectrum of my eyes. I was surprised how that was even implemented. That color was absolutely the opposite of where i wanted to go.. doesn’t matter, all of this stuff can be refurbished and changed at any time. Not a big deal. But I want to deal with colors that make me feel at home, something that resonates within, something that holds thoughts and feeling. Nostalgia, even.
Much earlier, maybe one or two years ago, i was zoning out on the color picker to find the best shade of blue as a desktop background. Fine-tuning for many minutes and going into the territory of blueish-purple, purple-blueish, but dim to an extent where it does not shine, but doesn’t go into black either. I wanted to look at the evening sky – or have a color that represents many evening skies. Tranquility. And then, i stopped…. and a certain color hit the spot.
I did not sit there thinking about it in a sense where i would make a serious statement, but to myself i said: “That’s the best blue in the world”. I can see the milky way and the many planets in it, even though it’s just a simple color.
The HEX code is #121D2F.
Looking at it superficially, i am thinking: “maybe it’s too dark for my readers. They won’t understand it.”. I mean, maybe it is.
But it isn’t.
There is light.
An omnipresent light glowing from the cosmos, the very fabric of poetry.
Try it out, set it as a wallpaper.
This is a blue for the evening and the night, for the moonshine.
I shall ask the midnight wolves if they approve of it.
It’s a blue that just resonates with me.
A faint starfield need to be in there.
It’s hard to even word it. It’s a whole vibe.
So, what do you think? Could it be the best blue in the world?
Or let’s be fair, the best shade of dark blue.
There is amazing brighter or saturated blue out there. I know. I have a long history of finding the perfect blue shade, often at the line between purple and blue. But i can’t complain about this one.
This one hits the spot.
You’re welcome calling it “RS Blue” or “Snyder Blue”, but only with the HEX #121D2F 🙂.
I will claim and utilize this blue for many nights and personal endeavours at least.
No need to seek for it anymore. I found it.
